The Secret Sauce
The trick to cold calling is to make the calls lukewarm.
Here’s the exact method we use:
Use Cognism to find a list of ‘diamond-verified’ mobile/cell phone numbers and email addresses of prospects in your ICP.
Create a free guide that your ICP would love to receive. Here’s an example of the one we use.
Use a cold email-sending tool such as Quickmail to email everyone on the list the free guide. The goal is not to get a response, just to offer some free value and something to talk about on the call. If you’re unsure how to send cold emails, see my ‘cold emails secrets revealed’ post.
1-3 days after you send the email, call the contact and use a script that goes something like this:
Good morning, is that [first_name] from [company]?
YesGreat! It’s [your_name] from [you_company].
I’m just calling to check that you received the [name_of_free_guide] that I emailed over yesterday?
I don’t recall seeing it.
No problem. I get that email inboxes are pretty manic these days!
Would you mind if I asked a question?
Sure, go ahead.
Are you guys [experiencing_pain_point] right now, and looking for a way to fix it?
Yes of course, isn’t everyone?For sure.
